EU Casino lets you hold an account in rand, but we'd read the withdrawal limits before signing up. You can cash out no more than 10,000 euro in any 30 days, with a 5,000 euro cap on each withdrawal. If you want a large win paid in one transfer, this isn't a good fit.

Our verdict: useful rand banking, tight payout limits
EU Casino could suit you if you play with modest stakes and want a rand balance. We like the clear deposit limits and the choice of tools for taking a break. You can set a budget before you play and get reminders while you're in a game.
The withdrawal cap is the main drawback. You're limited to 10,000 euro every 30 days, and bigger wins arrive in monthly instalments. Don't plan around getting a jackpot in one payment.
The rules also remove unused bonus money when you withdraw and allow a fee after six months without logging in.
We'd sort out your ID documents and payment method before taking a bonus. Make sure the payment account is in your name, and read the specific bonus rules before accepting. A rand balance is convenient, but it doesn't remove the euro limits and fees in the contract.
Who runs EU Casino?
EU Casino says it's run by Skill On Net Limited at Level G, Quantum House, 75 Abate Rigord Street, Ta' Xbiex, XBX 1120, Malta. It lists Malta Gaming Authority licence MGA/CRP/171/2009/01, issued on 1 August 2018. The Terms and Conditions are version 1.6, last updated 3 December 2024.
That's the casino's licence claim: check the company and domain in the regulator's register before signing up. A Maltese licence isn't a South African licence. See the National Gambling Board for local guidance.
The contract puts disputes under Maltese law, with Maltese courts having sole jurisdiction.
If you need to challenge a decision, start with the casino's complaints process. You can then take an unresolved complaint to an alternative dispute resolution service or the Maltese regulator. The steps below explain what to keep and where to go.
The terms also say the operating entity is the one "noted above the words Terms and conditions of use". That wording matters because the same group may run several brands under different licences, and the terms for each brand name the licensed company at the top of the page. When you read the terms, confirm that the company named at the top is the one named in the footer.
Access, age and registration
South Africa isn't on the list of countries excluded from real-money play. The restrictions do include the United Kingdom, United States, Australia, most of the European Union, India, Israel, Turkey, Russia and Ukraine. Namibia, Mozambique, Kenya, Tanzania, Nigeria and Angola are also excluded.
If you're travelling or moving, check the country rules before trying to play from your new location.
You must be at least 18, or the minimum legal age where you live if that is higher. The operator may ask for proof of age at any time and accepts a passport, driving licence or official ID card. A deposit made by a minor is treated as illegal and returned to the original payment source, and any winnings from it are forfeited.
The registration rules are strict. Only one account is allowed per person, household, family, household address, email address, credit card number or shared computer environment. The terms name libraries, workplaces, universities and schools as examples of shared environments.
If two accounts look linked, whether through an IP address, a pattern of use, proximity of transactions or common bank details, the operator can suspend both and reverse transactions. If you share a home network with a relative who also plays, tell support before you register so the link doesn't surprise you later.
The details you give must be true, complete and current. If the operator can't check the address you entered, the terms say no winnings will be paid. Withdrawals can only be made against the initial registration information, so a wrong phone number or email address can lead to winnings being voided.
There are three account types in the terms: a practice account that needs only a name, email and password; a bonus account that needs validated contact details but no deposit; and a real money account that is created by a first deposit. If you hold a bonus account and make no deposit within 30 days of creating it, any real money or bonus funds in it become null and void.
Should you take a bonus?
You'll find a welcome bonus, tournaments, free spins, a VIP lounge, Prize Twister and daily picks on the promotions page. We'd judge each offer by its full rules rather than its headline. A spin offer can be a poor deal if the cash-out limit or the playthrough target doesn't suit your budget.
Before you accept an offer, open its full terms and check six things: the qualifying deposit, the maximum bonus, how many times you must play through the bonus and deposit, the maximum stake, the deadline and the cash-out limit on free spins. If you can't find a clear answer, ask support before opting in. You don't need to take a bonus just because it's offered.
Two rules in the main Terms and Conditions already shape how any bonus works, whatever its headline. First, advertised first deposit bonuses and welcome offers are subject to an account registration check. After you register, the system reviews the details you entered and may decide your account is not eligible for bonuses, in which case an email tells you so as soon as the account exists.
In other words, an offer shown on the page is not guaranteed to be available to you. Second, you can't withdraw any funds, winnings included, while a bonus is active, and any unused bonus balance is removed if you withdraw. If you want to cash out, check whether you're still inside a wagering period first.
The terms also say that where the general terms and the promotion rules conflict, the promotion rules prevail. Read the specific page for the specific offer, not just the headline tile.
How do deposits and ID checks work?
The Terms and Conditions give the following minimums, unless the cashier says otherwise: 10 units for Australian, Canadian, Swiss, Euro, British, US and New Zealand currencies, and 100 for Danish krone, Swedish krona and the South African rand. Withdrawals have higher minimums: 20 units for the major currencies and 200 for the rand and the Nordic currencies. A rand player can deposit from 100 rand but must have 200 rand to withdraw.
The eleven account currencies listed are GBP, EUR, CHF, USD, AUD, CAD, DKK, SEK, NOK, ZAR and RUB.
The account currency is assigned automatically, based on where the system thinks you're registering from, and the terms say there's no way to change it afterwards. The only exception is that if you make a first deposit in a different listed currency, your account currency becomes that one. If you want to play in rand, the safest approach is to check the currency shown in the cashier before your first deposit.
Be aware that the terms state all fees and charges in euro, so fee amounts in the contract aren't given in rand.
The deposit methods named in the terms are credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Maestro/Switch/Solo), Trustly, Neteller, Skrill, Payz, fast bank transfer, Paysafecard, Sofort, Instant Payments by Citadel, Interac and Webmoney. Availability depends on your country: check your cashier before you deposit.
Do not assume that a South African card, EFT or voucher method will appear. Our banking guides cover the methods South African players normally look for, and the cashier is the only place to confirm what is open to you.
Several rules apply to deposits. All payments into your account must come from a payment source on which you're the named account holder. If the name doesn't match, the operator reserves the right to void all winnings.
A player who uses someone else's payment method is asked for records of the payment method and ID for both people and a signed Letter of Authority. The burden of proof that you were authorised to use the method rests on you. Chargebacks are prohibited: a player who starts one risks account closure, recovery action and a report to the police if foul play is suspected.
Expect ID checks when you deposit. The terms say a know-your-customer check is carried out when you make a deposit, and that documents may be requested after any deposit. The documents named include an ID card, a driving licence, a copy of the front of the payment card (the middle eight digits may be hidden), a recent utility bill or bank statement showing your name and address, a card statement showing recent transactions to the casino, and a signed deposit confirmation form.
The only approved way to send documents is the Upload Docs page inside your account. Documents sent any other way aren't accepted. A practical tip: upload everything early, because the terms say withdrawals will only be processed once proof of address, proof of ID, proof of payment method ownership and proof of the source of funds have been approved.
Be ready to explain where your playing money comes from. The operator may investigate a player's identity, history, occupation, financial standing and gaming activity, and may suspend deposits, withdrawals and play while it does so. This is standard anti-money-laundering practice at licensed operators, but it can feel intrusive.
If you don't want to supply proof of income when asked, this is not the site for you.
How much can you withdraw?
This is the section of the contract that deserves the closest reading.
The two limits
The terms state that "the maximum winning amount that a player can cash out is 10,000 euro every 30 days", that all other winnings are paid in monthly instalments of 10,000 euro every 30 days, and that the maximum withdrawal per transaction is 5,000 euro. A win of 30,000 euro would take three months to pay out and would need at least two withdrawal requests in each month. Large wins of 5,000 euro or more, and jackpot wins, may take longer because the operator checks the win, with a third party where relevant, and completes its checks.
Where the money goes
Withdrawals go back to the method used to deposit unless that method doesn't allow withdrawals. For a credit card, withdrawals of at least the amount deposited are paid back to the card where possible, and the remainder goes to an alternative method you choose. For online wallets, the amount deposited returns to the same wallet.
The operator also reserves the right to pay you through any method listed in the cashier, even if it's not your preferred one.
Timing
After you request a withdrawal, it stays pending until midnight GMT the following day. It then passes to the accounts department, which processes it on the next business day, provided it has everything it needs. The terms also refer to a three-day processing period.
You can reverse a pending withdrawal at any time before it's processed; the money returns to your real money balance. Once it's processed, it can't be cancelled. In some countries, Trustly withdrawals can be made within minutes, but only if no ID documents are needed.
These are processing windows in the terms, so don't treat them as a promise of when your bank will credit the money.
Fees
Wire transfer withdrawals cost 10 euro, with no charge above 500 euro. Card and online wallet withdrawals (Visa, Maestro, Switch, Solo, Payz, Skrill, Neteller, Paysafecard) carry no fee according to the terms. A separate 5 euro fee is charged on a withdrawal made without prior real money activity, and it's deducted from the balance when you request the withdrawal.
A further charge applies to players who deposit and withdraw repeatedly without genuinely playing: the operator may pass on bank charges it has incurred, set in the terms at 15 percent of the amount, before closing the account.
Checks before payment
Before any withdrawal is processed, your play is reviewed for breaches of the terms, the bonus policy and responsible gaming rules. The terms warn that a message congratulating you on a win doesn't mean the win has been cleared. If the operator concludes that you broke the terms, or that you hold another account restricted under its responsible gaming tools, it can withhold the withdrawal and confiscate winnings and bonuses.
A withdrawal can also be reversed back into your balance if you don't supply requested documents, and can be delayed or stopped until an outstanding deposit has been finally approved. If the original deposit funds don't arrive within 24 hours, the terms say all winnings are cancelled.
Withdrawal requests are only valid when submitted from the withdrawal page of the casino. Requests by email or telephone aren't accepted.
Account rules that can cost you money
Your balance can change even when you aren't playing. Read these account rules before leaving money in the casino, and return to the interrupted-game rules if your connection drops during a round.
- Inactivity fee. An account counts as inactive after six consecutive months without access. The operator may then charge a monthly fee until you log in again. The terms give 5 units for currencies such as the euro, pound and US dollar, 20 for some Gulf currencies and 50 for a group that includes the Swedish and Danish krone and the South African rand. The fee comes out of your balance, and if the balance is smaller than the fee it's reduced to zero. If the balance is already zero, no fee is charged. The operator says it will take reasonable steps to email you 30 days beforehand and may waive or reduce the fee. You can recover funds from an inactive account by logging in and requesting a withdrawal.
- VIP points. VIP points can be redeemed for cash only by customers who registered before 19 March 2017. VIP points must be converted within 180 days of being granted or they are removed. If you place a player limitation, the operator may remove accrued VIP points and reduce your VIP level to the lowest tier.
- Interrupted games. If your connection drops mid-game, you can finish the round by logging back in and opening the game. If you don't do so within 14 days, the game is closed, the bet is not returned and any potential winnings are forfeited. If a fault on the operator's side prevents completion, the window extends to 30 days, and if the fault is still not fixed the bet is returned.
- Malfunctions. In the event of a system malfunction all wagers are void. If a technical error pays out more than it should, the operator can remove the excess and any winnings made from it. Abusing a glitch can lead to voided winnings and closed accounts. The operator's server result takes precedence over what your screen shows, and jackpot payouts follow the server-side figure at the moment of the win.
- Disconnection and conduct. Disconnecting on purpose from a game can lead to termination without a refund of balance. Use of artificial intelligence software to gain an advantage leads to termination and cancelled winnings. Specific card-counting and collusion practices are listed as prohibited, and the operator can withhold balance or recover earlier payouts if it concludes you took part, including on the basis of play at other providers.
- Account is not a bank. Funds aren't insured by any government agency and carry no interest.
The terms say your funds are held in a separate bank account from the casino's business money and protected from third-party claims, including in insolvency. That doesn't make your casino balance a savings account. Keep only your playing budget there, and withdraw money you no longer plan to use.
What can you play?
The site's menu shows games, live casino, jackpot, promotions, a VIP club and help. The footer groups the lobby into slots, Megaways, roulette, table games and live casino. The About page says the site uses a certified and audited random number generator and links to a testing certificate, and that the operator monitors play to keep results fair.
You can follow the certificate link if you want to check its scope and date.
The terms say each game's return to player is shown in that game's rules and may change, and they recommend checking the rules each time you play if RTP matters to you. That's a useful reminder: the same slot can run at different percentages at different casinos. A footer note adds that game images and provider icons on the logged-out page are illustrative and some games may not be available in your country or account.
In other words, a title you saw advertised may not be in your lobby.
Try practice mode before risking money on a game you don't know. The terms describe it as play without real money, and neither funds nor game features carry over to real-money play. Use it to learn the controls, paytable and bonus features.
A good practice session doesn't tell you what your next paid session will return.
How do you make a complaint?
The complaints procedure is staged. First you contact customer support in writing with your username, full name, a detailed explanation, and the dates and times involved. If the answer doesn't resolve it, you can ask for escalation to a manager or supervisor, who the terms say will respond with a decision within 96 hours.
If you're still unhappy and the matter concerns a gambling transaction, the terms point you to eCOGRA, described as an MGA-authorised alternative dispute resolution company whose ruling is binding. The eCOGRA conditions quoted in the terms are that at least two weeks must have passed since the problem began, that you've made reasonable attempts to resolve it with the operator, that the dispute is not already before another ADR provider or a court, and that the dispute arose within the last year. eCOGRA can decline a dispute it considers frivolous or vexatious and says it will tell you within three weeks if so.
You may also complain directly to the Malta Gaming Authority, which the terms describe as covering any aspect of your gaming experience that is not safe, fair or transparent. The authority's address is given in the terms. Because the contract is governed by Maltese law, this is your formal route outside the operator.
The contract also says that the English version prevails over any translation, that telephone calls are recorded and may be used as proof, and that notices are sent to the email address on your account, so keep it current and active.
Keep your own records. The terms recommend printing transaction details. Screenshots of balances, bonus terms as they appeared on the day you accepted them, and records of your chat transcripts make a complaint far easier to argue.
The terms also say that if you notice an abnormality on your account you must tell support and stop playing, and that further losses after that point will not be refunded.
Responsible gambling tools
Set your limits before you start playing. You can cap deposits, take a short break or exclude yourself. Pick the tool that matches what you need; if you're struggling to stop, a reminder alone may not be enough.
- Deposit limits. You can set daily, weekly or monthly limits in the cashier. A decrease takes effect at once. An increase takes effect only after 24 hours. Limits apply to the account on which you set them, so if you hold other accounts on the same licence you must set limits on each.
- Cooling-off. 24 hours, 48 hours or 7 days, applied to the account you set it on.
- Temporary suspension. 30, 60 or 90 days on that account.
- Self-exclusion. You choose whether it applies only to the account in question or to all current and future accounts on the licence. For an indefinite exclusion, or to lengthen one, contact support after placing it. During self-exclusion you can't gamble or deposit and you stop receiving marketing, which the operator says can take up to 24 hours to apply.
- Game status reminders. A pop-up at 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes showing how long you've played, your bets and your winnings or losses, with a choice to continue or log out.
- Time limit. An automatic logout after a time you choose, enabled by contacting support.
- Self-assessment test linked from the page, and links to outside help organisations including GamBan, the Gambling Therapy helpline and the Responsible Gaming Foundation.
Two practical notes. The terms say that placing a player limitation means you forfeit bonuses, cashbacks and personal offers extended before the limitation. And the limitation tools can only be used online, so a request to support will bring you instructions rather than the change itself.
In South Africa, the South African Responsible Gambling Foundation runs a free helpline on 0800 006 008, and the National Responsible Gambling Programme offers counselling. If gambling is causing you stress, debt or secrecy, use a cooling-off or exclusion tool before you deposit again, and speak to someone. The operator's page also warns that gambling should never be funded from money needed for rent, bills or other expenses.

Questions before you deposit
Is EU Casino open to South African players?
Yes, South Africa isn't on the excluded-country list, and ZAR is a supported account currency. Check that your account details and currency are right before making your first deposit.
How much can I withdraw?
Up to 5,000 euro per transaction and 10,000 euro in total every 30 days, according to the terms. Bigger wins are paid in monthly instalments. You also need approved identity documents and a real money balance with no active bonus.
Can I withdraw while a bonus is running?
No. The terms bar withdrawals, winnings included, while a bonus is active, and unused bonus balance is removed if you withdraw. Check the bonus policy first.
What does it cost to withdraw?
Cards and wallets are free. Wire transfers cost 10 euro below 500 euro. A 5 euro fee applies to withdrawals made without prior real money play.
What is the smallest deposit in rand?
100 rand, and the smallest withdrawal is 200 rand, unless the cashier states other limits.
What happens if I stop playing?
After six months without logging in, a monthly inactivity fee (50 rand-group units) can be taken from your balance. The operator says it will try to email you 30 days earlier. Logging in stops the fee.
Where do I complain?
Write to customer support first. If that doesn't resolve your complaint, ask for a manager; the terms give the manager 96 hours to respond. You can then use eCOGRA and, if needed, the Malta Gaming Authority.
Should I take a bonus?
Only if its full rules fit your budget and the way you want to play. Check the playthrough target, maximum stake and deadline. If you'd rather be able to request a withdrawal without finishing bonus conditions, skip the bonus.
