Updated 3 November 2026 by the CasinoMenu team

If you type zarcasino.co.za into your browser today, you land on ZARbet at zarbet.co.za. ZARbet is run by Apollo Gaming (Pty) Ltd, and it holds a Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board bookmaker licence. We found no notice saying that old ZAR Casino accounts or balances moved across, so treat ZARbet as a new sign-up and read its terms before you deposit.

This page covers what we read on ZARbet's own website on 3 November 2026: who runs it, how registration and withdrawals work, what its bonuses really ask of you, and what to do if you still have money in an old ZAR Casino account.

What happens when you visit the old ZAR Casino address?

The old address zarcasino.co.za redirects to www.zarbet.co.za. The page you reach is headed "Online Betting South Africa, Sports and Casino", with Log In and Sign Up buttons at the top. Nothing on it says "formerly ZAR Casino", and we found no message for returning customers.

The separate address zarcasino.com is a different story. When we checked it on 2 November, it promoted Hollywoodbets rather than ZARbet. Don't assume that site is linked to the old .co.za brand just because the name matches.

The practical point: a redirect is a website setting. It doesn't prove that your old login, your balance or your pending withdrawal moved with it. Only the business holding your money can tell you that, and it should say so in writing.

Who runs ZARbet?

ZARbet's footer and terms name Apollo Gaming (Pty) Ltd, company number 2024/307627/07, with a registered office at Office 203, Spaces V&A Waterfront, Dock Road Junction, corner of Dock and Stanley Road, V&A Waterfront, Cape Town, 8001. The company describes itself as a licensed bookmaker regulated by the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board.

The licence number is worth a closer look. The footer on zarbet.co.za says bookmaker licence 10010581-031, first issued on 28 March 2024. The ZARbet listing on the Apple App Store says bookmaker licence 10010581-030, issued on 1 April 2025. Both belong to Apollo Gaming, but the two numbers and dates don't match each other. If the exact licence matters to you, ask ZARbet support to confirm which one applies, or check the Board's website at wcgrb.co.za.

The terms say they were last updated on 25 October 2026, so they change. Check the date at the top before you rely on anything we say here.

Is ZARbet the same business as the old ZAR Casino?

We can't tell you that. Apollo Gaming's licence dates from 2024 and 2025, and ZARbet's footer shows a copyright range of 2024 to 2026. The site doesn't mention ZAR Casino anywhere that we could find. That's why we say the old address "now opens ZARbet" rather than "became ZARbet".

What this means for you: if you had an account at the old ZAR Casino, don't assume a ZARbet login will find it. Use ZARbet's contact options to ask. If you've never had an account, none of this affects you, and you can judge ZARbet like any new site.

How do you ask about an old ZAR Casino balance?

Send one clear message from the email address you used at the old site. ZARbet's terms say account questions should come from your registered email address, and its contact page lists support@zarbet.co.za, the phone number 0860 927 238 (0860 ZARbet) and a live chat button.

Include these details:

  • The email address and username on your old ZAR Casino account.
  • The date of your last login and your last deposit.
  • The amount you believe is in the account, and any withdrawal you requested.
  • Any transaction reference from your bank or card statement.

Don't put your password or full card number in the message. Ask three direct questions: does ZARbet hold records for the old ZAR Casino, who is responsible for the balance, and what is the next step. Save the reply. If the answer is "we have no record", you'll at least know where you stand.

Watch for scams. If someone messages you offering to release an old balance for a fee, stop. Use only the contact details on the website you opened yourself.

What if you can't recover an old balance?

Start with your own records. Your bank or card statement shows what you paid in and when, and that is usually enough to describe the problem. If the business that held your money won't answer, write down the dates you contacted it and what it said.

For a complaint about a South African licensed bookmaker, the National Gambling Board at ngb.org.za explains how the provincial licensing authorities work. ZARbet's own terms say a disagreement about winnings it won't settle may go to the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board as a patron dispute. That route applies to ZARbet, so it only helps if ZARbet is the business that owes you.

How does registration work at ZARbet?

You must be 18 or older and be a South African resident, and you must be accessing the website from South Africa. The terms also bar companies and close corporations, so accounts are for private individuals only. Using a VPN or proxy to hide your location is not allowed.

The terms say you may be asked to become a verified customer before you bet or withdraw. That can mean a valid ID, proof of address and extra documents the company needs under Financial Intelligence Centre rules. The terms also say ZARbet can ask for a selfie or arrange a verification call, and that it can carry out checks at any time while your account is open.

Players who are asylum seekers may deposit, but the terms say the paperwork must be checked before a withdrawal is paid.

A few more rules from the registration section:

  • You can't be on a self-exclusion register, whether ZARbet's, the Western Cape board's or the national register.
  • You can't sell, pledge or transfer your account, and you can't move funds between customer accounts.
  • You must keep your email address up to date, because account notices go there.
  • ZARbet can refuse a registration without giving a reason.

How do deposits work?

The terms say deposits must come from an account, payment system, card or voucher in your own name. Other currencies are converted at the daily rate, and you pay your own bank charges. ZARbet says it absorbs most transaction fees on deposits. The cashier on the live site shows what is available to you once you're logged in.

The responsible gambling page mentions Capitec Deposit, debit and credit cards, EFT, 1Voucher, Kazang Voucher (EasyPay), OTT Voucher, BluVoucher and direct bank cash deposits. Which of these you see can change, so look at the cashier rather than counting on a method being there.

Two rules catch people out. First, the terms say you agree not to reverse or charge back a deposit, and a chargeback history is a reason to close an account. Second, if you deposit by mistake, a refund goes back to the same account and method, and for deposits above R5,000 you need to supply a bank statement. Administrative fees can be deducted from the refund.

What do withdrawals cost, and how long do they take?

This is the part of the terms we'd read twice. The minimum withdrawal is R250 per transaction. The terms also say a service fee per transaction applies, which varies with the size of the withdrawal and the processor, and that you'll see the fee when you request the payout.

There is a separate anti-money-laundering charge. If you wager your deposit at least once before withdrawing, there is no commission. If you don't, ZARbet can deduct a fee of at least 10%. The terms give examples:

  • Deposit R1,000, wager R1,000 or more, withdraw R1,000: no withdrawal fee.
  • Deposit R1,000, wager R500, withdraw R1,000: a fee of at least R100.

So the cheap way to withdraw is to play the deposit through once. A single bet or several bets can do it.

More withdrawal rules to know:

  • Withdrawals go back to the card, bank account or method you deposited with. ZARbet may allow another method at its discretion, after extra security checks.
  • Payments can only be made to South African banks and bank accounts.
  • All requests sit in a pending period before the finance team reviews them. You can reverse a pending withdrawal, but the terms say that resets its place in the queue.
  • Requested documents must be submitted within 336 hours (14 days), otherwise the withdrawal is reversed to your balance until you provide them.
  • The maximum paid to one player is R3,000,000 per calendar month, across all methods.

The terms don't promise a payout time in hours or days, so don't plan a bill payment around a withdrawal you haven't requested yet.

What bonuses does ZARbet offer right now?

On 3 November 2026, the ZARbet promotions page listed several offers. The headline one was a 200% first deposit match bonus: deposit R20 or more to get a match of up to R2,000. Others included a 100% match up to R2,000 on a R100 deposit, R200 in free spins for a R100 deposit on Mondays, spins on Tuesdays for players who deposit from Wednesday to Monday, a "Big 5 Ladder" of wagering levels from R100 to R500, and a Sunday scratch-and-win with 10% cashback.

These are ZARbet's own promotions, and they can change or end without warning. We can't promise any of them will be there when you visit. We don't have an affiliate link for ZARbet, so this page has no sign-up button. If you decide to register, type zarbet.co.za yourself.

What do the bonus terms ask of you?

Read the general bonus terms before you accept anything. The headline match is only half of it. The key rules in ZARbet's terms:

  • Deposit match bonuses, including ones with free spins attached, must be wagered 30 times before you can withdraw. Example in the terms: deposit R100 and take a 100% match, and you need to wager R100 x 30 = R3,000.
  • The most you can withdraw from a deposit match bonus is 10 times your deposit. Deposit R100 and the cap is R1,000.
  • Free spins from a deposit promotion carry a 30 times wagering requirement on the free spins value, with the same 10 times deposit cap on winnings.
  • Free spins with no deposit, and loyalty point bonuses, carry a R250 maximum withdrawal.
  • Money from a deposit match bonus or free spins can't be used on the sportsbook. Winnings from bets placed that way are void.
  • For the welcome bonus, the terms say bets in the "game feature" on slots don't count towards the wagering.
  • When you have an active bonus, the system uses your cash first, but the whole balance becomes subject to the bonus terms once play starts.
  • Once you meet the wagering, the terms say the bonus value is deducted. You can't keep the bonus itself.
  • You can withdraw once from a bonus after meeting playthrough, and anything left from that bonus is forfeited.

How you claim matters too. The terms say a deposit match bonus must be claimed within five minutes of the deposit, or while your cash balance still holds at least 75% of that deposit. It must be claimed before you place a bet with the deposit, and you claim it yourself with the bonus code. Nothing is credited automatically. Only one deposit match can be claimed per deposit.

What does a bonus cost you in practice?

Take the R100 deposit with a 100% match. You then hold R200: R100 of your cash and R100 of bonus. To withdraw, you need to wager R3,000 (30 times the R100 bonus). The most you could cash out is R1,000 (10 times your deposit), and the bonus amount itself comes off when you withdraw.

Now compare a R20 deposit with the 200% match. Your wagering target is based on the bonus amount, so ask the cashier or support exactly what it comes to before you accept. Whether that is realistic depends on your budget and how long you want to play.

Our advice: if you want to withdraw easily and play with your own cash, skip the bonus. Wager your deposit once, which avoids the 10% fee, and cash out. If you do take a bonus, write down the wagering target and the cash-out cap before you start, and stop if you're unsure how much you have left to wager.

What games does ZARbet offer?

ZARbet's About page names Aviator, Pragmatic Play and Evolution, plus "Genii" content that it says is exclusive to ZARbet. Its Apple App Store listing adds NetEnt and Red Tiger slots, Spribe instant-win games and Evolution live dealer games such as Crazy Time, Deal or No Deal and Monopoly Live. It also offers sports betting, with soccer, rugby, cricket and tennis named.

The site and the app also mention leaderboards, jackpots and VIP rewards. We haven't played there, so we can't say how fair the leaderboards are or how often prizes hit. Treat those as marketing until you've seen the rules for yourself.

What are the bet and payout limits?

ZARbet has a "Bet Limits" page. The numbers on it on 3 November 2026:

  • Minimum sports bet: R1.00.
  • Maximum net payout per single or multiple sports bet: R10,000,000. The same cap applies per calendar day.
  • Lucky Numbers (lotteries and Powerball): R1,000,000.
  • On-Demand Games: R5,465,500.
  • Instant Games: R2,069,520.

The page adds that limits vary by sport, competition and bet type, and that ZARbet may raise or lower them after approval from the Western Cape board. If several accounts place bets with the same selections and ZARbet believes one customer or a syndicate is behind them, it can limit the total payout.

Is there a mobile app?

Yes, there is a ZARbet app on the Apple App Store in South Africa. Its listing shows an 18+ age rating, a size of 36.4 MB and Apollo Gaming PTY LTD as the developer. Only download an app from a store listing you've opened yourself, and check that the developer name matches before you install. We haven't tested the app, so we have nothing to say about how it runs.

What if something goes wrong with a bet or payment?

ZARbet's terms are strict on timing. Disputes about a bet must be lodged within three days of the date the wager was decided, and no claims are honoured after that. Contact customer service from your registered email. If support can't agree a solution with you, the matter goes to management. If the dispute is about winnings you believe you're owed and can't settle, the terms say it can go to the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board.

Check your transactions in your account after each session. The terms say you're responsible for your own account transactions, and that ZARbet won't deal with discrepancy requests about missing or duplicate bets. A quick look at your history while it's fresh gives you the best chance of catching a problem inside the three days.

What happens to an inactive account?

If you haven't logged in or used your account for 12 continuous calendar months, ZARbet treats it as dormant. The terms say a dormant account is then handled under the applicable laws and regulations. If your account is inaccessible, locked, dormant or closed and you want your money, the terms tell you to contact customer service.

The same advice applies to any casino: log in now and then, and withdraw what you don't plan to play with. To close an account, send the request from your registered email address.

What tools does ZARbet give you to stay in control?

ZARbet's responsible gambling page lists limits, time-outs, temporary self-exclusion and permanent self-exclusion. In more detail:

  • Deposit limits: set daily, weekly or monthly by contacting customer support. They apply to Capitec Deposit, debit or credit cards and EFT, but not to vouchers or direct bank cash deposits.
  • Time-outs: your account can be suspended for one day, seven days, one month or three months.
  • Self-exclusion: you pick your own period, or at least six months, or permanent closure. After the minimum six months you need to send a written reactivation request, and ZARbet may ask for proof of counselling or treatment first.
  • While excluded, you can't use any products, but you can still withdraw your balance, and ZARbet stops marketing to you.

ZARbet recommends that if you self-exclude, you do it at every gambling site you use. For a wider block, you can use the provincial gambling boards, which can add you to the self-exclusion register.

How does ZARbet compare with other casinos?

ZARbet is a bookmaker with a casino section, licensed in the Western Cape. Its strengths on paper are a low R20 minimum for the first-deposit match, EFT and voucher options, and local support numbers. Its weak points are the 30 times wagering, the 10 times deposit cap on bonus winnings, the R250 minimum withdrawal and the fee if you withdraw without wagering your deposit.

Before you pick any site, ask yourself how you'd get your money out, and in whose name. Compare the minimum withdrawal, the fee, the documents and the dispute route. Our casino comparison guide lists other South African casinos side by side, and our banking guide explains the payment methods.
